Pond Water Experiment

Pond water + sun + four weeks = ?

I’m hoping that little Spore-like creatures appear, or at the very least, the water will turn green. Sometimes it’s nice to let go and let nature do its thing. I’ll post close-up photos of the jars in four weeks.

seems fun. cant wait till the month ends.

you might want to open up the lid or have holes somewhere on it. for gaseous exchange, I guess. lol.

hah i did this as a science project in the 5th grade :D! grab a microscope, you’ll see some awesome stuff!

Yeah, if you didn’t open the lids a bit, you may have a nasty surprise awaiting you in the form of an anaerobic bacteria takeover in those jars! Also, if they were left outdoors, jars like that basically become little steam ovens in the sunlight, cooking most interesting stuff.

Nonetheless, if you wanna borrow a microscope, I gots the hookup ;)

Looking forward to see the outcome of this. Are these still sitting out there in the sun or have you gotten your results yet?

we did this once at college and left the jar in a locker. we then lost the locker key. 1 year later and the smell caused for the locker to be forced open. The sight inside the locker was indescribable.
