Hello Lokesh,

I love this script, I've used it before and have recently been using it for our corporate site. One thing I'm having trouble with is that I am also running the DHTML FadeSlideShow at the top of my page for a rotating banner. When I call the lightbox, it appears behind the SlideShow. On this page, the lightbox is at the very bottom of the page and fires off great - http://www.fatdaddyssc.com/locations_ft_worth.html

...while it is open, scroll back to the top and you can see the SlideShow coming through. I'm manipulated the z-index as much as I can in the SlideShow but still can not hide it.

My js and DHTML is not a pro level so I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

Thanks,

Paul,

Make sure the loading.gif and close.gif files as referenced near the top of the lightbox.js file are in the right location.

These are the lines in the lightbox.js that must point to the correct sub-folder:

fileLoadingImage:        '../assets/images/loading.gif',
    fileBottomNavCloseImage: '../assets/images/closelabel.gif',

If nothing else works, consider specifying the entire url for the folder where the gif's are located (eg, http://www.yoursite.com/.../loading.gif

Hope this helps.

Hello Lokesh.

Lightbox2 is the most elegant lighbox I've seen. Thank you.

Although I'm not a programmer, I was able to install it on my website in progress: http://edge-media.com/test/mariaschon/html/landscape_and_memories.html

It works great in Safari and Mozilla but, as you may have noticed, in IE the overlay does not cover the entire width of the window. The width of the overlay is equal to the body width (defined in the stmt: body { margin:0px auto; width:825px; }) and not to the width of the browser window.

I wonder if you have any suggestions for a fix. Thank you in advance.

Great code and works well with pages in my root folder, however when executed from a page in a sub-folder it doesnt work so well as the LOADING.GIF does not come up although the CLOSELABEL.GIF comes up.

How can I get the LOADING.GIF to show?

Compare opening a thumbnail in
http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgccy/yaparade.shtml
to
http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgccy/specialys/yb1550.shtml

I have both CLOSELABEL.GIF and LOADING.GIF in my images/folder so I do not see why in the second instance I cannot get the LOADING.GIF to come up.

Help please ... someone!

Thanks

Hi JH.
Nice website.
I have the same problem. I am going to use this code, but I don't now how to use it.
I have my mc in my flash cs 4 and I want to link it to 5 pictures with lightboxInjector.
Can you help me?

function attachImagesToStage(photoArray:Array):Void {

    // reset myFlashLightBoxInjector
    ExternalInterface.call("myFlashLightBoxInjector.reset");

    // loop photoArray
    for (i=0; i <photoArray.length; i++) {

        // attach new MC to Stage
        var mc:MovieClip = this.attachMovie("photoFrame", "photoFrame" + photoArray[i].id, _root.getNextHighestDepth());

        // add image to MC, set x and y coordinates, etc.
        mc.loadImage(photoArray[i].thumb);
        mc._x       = ((mc._width * (i+1)) - (mc._width / 2));
        mc._y         = 25 + Math.round((Stage.height - (mc._height*2)) * Math.random());
        mc._rotation    = 30 - (60 * Math.random());

        // append element in DOM through myFlashLightBoxInjector.appendElement
        ExternalInterface.call("myFlashLightBoxInjector.appendElement", photoArray[i].url + "", photoArray[i].desc + "", "photoFrame" + photoArray[i].id + "", "mySetOfImages");

        // hook onRelease event
        mc.onRelease = function() {
            // show Lightbox with this image
            ExternalInterface.call("myFlashLightBoxInjector.start", this._name + "");
        }

    }

    // let Lightbox know stuff has changed
    ExternalInterface.call("myFlashLightBoxInjector.updateImageList");

}

The hopefull

Lokesh,

Thanks for making such a useful script. I see it everywhere! I was wondering if you planned on building in support for randomizing the contents of the lightbox? I know that right now the order is determined by the order in which you list the images in the code, but I'd love to be able to have the ability to create a random order. I'd imagine the order would randomize each time the page was loaded/each timed the JS was called, etc.

best,

Alan
